Herrera set for PSG
Manchester United look set to lose Ander Herrera on a free transfer this summer.
The team that have seemingly pried the Spaniard away from Old Trafford is Ligue 1 giants PSG, according to the Daily Record.
According to the report from Record, Herrera agreed a pre-contract deal with PSG after being unimpressed with Man United’s latest contract offer.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has recently been full of praise for Herrera and seemed like he wanted him to stay:
“His energy and tenaciousness is vital for us.
“And that’s why he plays, more or less, every single game. He has loads of energy, he can cover the right-hand side, he runs forward.”As quoted by the Daily Record.
However, it looks as though PSG have ended OGS’ hope of keeping Herrera in Manchester.
Herrera has played 187 games across all competitions for United since making the switch from Athletico Bilbao.
In those 187 games, he has scored 20 and assisted 27.
The 29-year-old has also been an instrumental part of Solskjaer’s midfield since he took over in December.
Now though, it looks like Man United will have to replace Herrera in the coming transfer window.
The Red Devils have already been linked with a couple of players who could come into to fill the void left by Herrera, should he leave for PSG.
The first of which is Barcelona’s Ivan Rakitic who would reportedly cost United around €50m.
