Chile 4 – Honduras 1
Chile beat Honduras 4-1 in an international friendly on Tuesday night.
The win was a much needed tonic for Chile after they lost 3-2 to Costa Rica last weekend.
Arturo Vidal was the hero for the hosts in the first half as the Barcelona midfielder scored a brace.
Alexis Sanchez made it 3-1 in the 61st minute, while Nicolas Castillo scored a fourth for Chile late on.
Alexander Lopez bagged a consolation for Honduras in the 40th minute.
Man United’s Alexis Sanchez missed a penalty
For the second time in successive matches, Man United’s Alexis Sanchez missed a penalty.
Alexis saw a spot-kick save in the defeat to Costa Rica.
Against Honduras, the Man United forward again failed to score a penalty.
Sanchez targeted his effort to the goalie’s right, however the keeper guessed correctly to make the save.
Fortunately for Sanchez, the keeper failed to hold onto the spot-kick and the Man United forward was able to convert the rebound.
Alexis showed his frustrations by kicking the post after he stuck the ball in the net.
Alexis Sanchez makes a young boy’s dreams come true
Immediately after he scored, a young fan ran onto the pitch to celebrate with Alexis Sanchez.
The Man United striker took control of the situation as he walked the kid off the pitch.
After the match, Alexis revealed he brought the boy into the Chile dressing room.
Not only did the young fan end up getting the Man United star’s Chile shirt.
Sanchez also gave the lad his football boots from the Honduras game!
