Man United give up on de Ligt
For some time now, Manchester United have been linked with Ajax defender, Matthijs de Ligt.
De Ligt is a bright young centre-back who is already staking a claim to be one of the best defenders in Europe.
Despite being just 19, the youngster is already Ajax’s captain, and helped them to the 2018/19 Eredivisie title.
However, reports have been circulating on Sunday, suggesting that United have ruled out a move for the Dutch defender.

United turn back to Maguire
Now, according to the Evening Standard, who also mention that Man United have given up on a de Ligt deal, the Red Devils have once again turned their attention to signing Leicester’s Harry Maguire.
Maguire has been linked with a move to Old Trafford for some time now, with the Standard also claiming that any deal for the centre-back could break Man United’s transfer record.
Maguire has played 76 games across all competitions for Leicester City since joining from Hull.
It was at the 2018 World Cup where Maguire impressed the most, though, as England reached the semi-finals of the competition.
The Mirror have also published a report on Sunday claiming that Man United will miss out on Napoli centre-back, Kalidou Koulibaly.
It is pretty clear that United are in need of some sort of defensive reinforcements this summer, though. They conceded 54 goals in 38 league games this past season, the most of the top nine clubs.
