Reports in the English media this afternoon suggest that Manchester United are considering a summer move for Celtic star Odsonne Edouard.
Edouard, a 22-year-old striker, has been on the books of Scottish champions Celtic since the summer of 2017.
And the PSG youth product has since gone on to establish himself as one of, if not the most highly-regarded young talent in Scotland.
After impressing during a loan stint in Glasgow during the 2017-18 campaign, Celtic unsurprisingly opted to make Edouard’s signing permanent, with the Frenchman having been the man chosen to replace Moussa Dembele at Parkhead.
And to say that Edouard has since managed to fill the sizable boots of his fellow countryman would be putting it lightly.
All told, since the beginning of last season, the gifted hitman has racked up a hugely-impressive 45 goals, to go along with 25 assists, across all competitions.
Man United keen
As such, Edouard’s stellar production has inevitably seen the 22-year-old named as a target for some of European football’s heavyweights.
And, as per a report from the Sun (citing the Daily Mail), one such club eyeing a possible summer swoop for Celtic’s crown jewel are Manchester United.
The Red Devils are known to be on the lookout for reinforcements up top, with the January addition of Odion Ighalo expected to act as little more than a stop-gap for the remainder of the campaign.
Edouard, though, is seemingly viewed as more of a long-term solution to the goalscoring woes of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men, with the French youth international among a number of attacking options under consideration by the Old Trafford hierarchy ahead of the summer window.
