Paul Pogba set to be available for Premier League opener
Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has recovered from a back spasm and is line to face Chelsea in their Premier League opener on Sunday.
Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s United will come up against Frank Lampard and Chelsea on the first Super Sunday of the Premier League campaign.
Both sides will be looking to get their season off to a winning start, with expectations for both pretty low after disappointing transfer windows (or lack thereof).
One player who could be key in the clash is Paul Pogba, although it previously looked as though he could miss the Premier League opener.
That was after Pogba was forced to miss United’s pre-season clash with Kristiansund due to a back spasm.
Now, there’s been an update on his fitness.
Eric Bailly and Alexis Sanchez only players set to miss clash
Ahead of the Super Sunday clash, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that Paul Pogba is ready to face Chelsea.
Speaking on Friday, Ole claimed that the Frenchman is available after recovering from injury.
“I wasn’t going to risk him (against AC Milan), travelling down with the flight, but he joined in the game against Blackburn the day after behind closed doors here. He is available,” the Man United boss explained, as quoted by the M.E.N.
That will come as a relief for any fans that thought Pogba could miss out.
The only injury concern for Man United right now is Eric Bailly, who could be out until the festive period.
Alexis Sanchez could also miss out on the clash with Chelsea, after returning for pre-season late due to the Copa America.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer also confirmed in his press conference that Harry Maguire is ready to feature.
