Gazzetta’s Euro XI of the week

Italian pink paper Gazzetta dello Sport have once again produced their European team of the week on Monday, and the XI looks good from a Premier League point of view.

Three players from the EPL made the cut: Man United’s Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy, and Watford’s Jose Holebas were all selected.

Mkhitaryan, who was also included the BBC’s EPL team of the week, scored the only goal as United beat Tottenham at Old Trafford.

Vardy rediscovered his scoring touch with a hat-trick against Man City, while Holebas was rewarded for his two assists as Watford beat Everton 3-2.

Some other noticeable inclusions

Looking around the rest of the team, former Man United and Chelsea flop Radamel Falcao earned a spot in the attack following his hat-trick for AS Monaco at the weekend.

It’s been a remarkable season for the Colombian, as he’s now scored 14 goals in 16 games for Monaco.

Elsewhere, FC Barcelona star Leo Messi completed the front three after his brace against Osasuna.
