Man United’s summer plans
As they do every weekend, the Sunday Express splash their back page with a juicy (if not unlikely to happen) transfer story.
Man United are the centre of attention for the tabloid, as it’s believed Jose Mourinho is ready to revamp his midfield this summer.
Of course, United spend massively last summer on new recruits in the middle of the park. Paul Pogba joined from Juventus in a world record deal, while Henrikh Mkhitaryan joined from Borussia Dortmund.
Rather than looking from inside their own squad, or even in the Premier League for new midfield talent, Man United’s are said to be looking at Ligue 1 instead.
£80m on two stars
The Express claim that PSG’s Blaise Matuidi and Monaco’s Bernando Silva are both possible signings for Man United this summer.
Starting with Matuidi, who is listed as being available for £30m, it’s claimed that while PSG want to keep him in the French capital, the Les Blues international wants to hear what United have to offer.
30-year-old Matuidi is under contract at PSG until 2018.
As for Silva, the Monaco playmaker is thought to be up for sale for £50m.
While the Express believe that Real Madrid are also chasing Silva’s signature, the tabloid fail to mention that Monaco came out last week with a clear statement that Silva, along with Kylian Mbappe and Thomas Lemar, will not be leaving the club this summer.
Lastly, the Express claim that Marouane Fellaini will be sold from Old Trafford in the off-season.
