Man United ‘sound out’ Mauricio Pochettino over possibility of replacing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Man United struggling

To say that Manchester United have had a rocky start to the 2020/21 season would be something of an understatement.

The Red Devils opened their campaign with a rather embarrassing 3-1 home defeat at the hands of Crystal Palace.

United then went to pick up back-to-back wins over Brighton in the Premier League and League Cup. But, even in those victories, the Manchester powerhouse looked some way off their best.

Then, this past weekend, in one of the matches of the season so far, United completely collapsed during a meeting with Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham.

The likes of Harry Maguire, Paul Pogba and Eric Bailly put on shambolic displays, as the Red Devils eventually succumbed to a staggering 6-1 defeat.

Pochettino to Old Trafford

Following their defeat to Spurs, Man United opted to sign four players on deadline day – including Edinson Cavani and Alex Telles.

Fans of the Red Devils will therefore no doubt be hopeful that the added firepower will help the club to bounce back following the international break.

Should results continue to dip, though, it appears as though Man United have already begun to make contingency plans.

As per a recent report from the Daily Star, United have sounded out ex-Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino over the possibility of replacing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Pochettino is said to be keen on the job, though the Reds faithful probably shouldn’t expect movement any time soon, with it added that Ed Woodward is not prepared to sack Solskjaer during the international break.
