Reports stemming from France this evening claim that Premier League giants Manchester United are currently locked in talks with Antero Henrique, over taking up a position at the club.
United’s recruitment struggles
The Red Devils have endured a frustrating January transfer window to this point.
As is always the case, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s outfit have been tipped as a potential destination for a whole host of players across Europe.
The individual most persistently-linked, though, has been Sporting CP standout Bruno Fernandes.
But, despite widespread reports of intense negotiations between the two clubs, and United being in desperate need of a player of Fernandes’ ilk, to this point, the Red Devils have failed to push a deal over the line.
United’s transfer market shortcomings have unsurprisingly resulted in unrest amongst the club’s fanbase, with executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward having been heavily targeted of late:
“Ed Woodward is going to die” from the United end. First time I have heard it today. Lots of songs backing Solskjaer. Now “Love United, Hate Glazers”.

As outlined above, though, a long-overdue aid on the recruitment front could soon be incoming at Old Trafford.
Previous reports stemming from Italy have since been backed in France, surrounding former PSG director Antero Henrique’s potential appointment at Manchester United.
Foot Mercato claim that ‘advanced negotiations’ between the two parties are currently ongoing, with a view to Henrique’s implementation in a sporting director/head of recruitment role.
The Portuguese, who has been out of work since last June, could even arrive over the next couple of weeks.
