Manchester United open talks with Solskjaer
According to the Independent, Manchester United have opened talks with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer over becoming United’s next permanent boss.
Solskjaer was appointed as Man United’s interim boss in December of 2018 following the sacking of Jose Mourinho.
Since taking charge at United Solskjaer has managed 11 games across all competitions.
United have won 10 of those 11 games, drawing 2-2 with Burnley in the reaming fixture, a result which Solskjaer and his players are still upset by.
OGS: “The players are still disappointed with the two points we lost against Burnley, so I am.”

After an impressive start under Solskjaer, United have moved into a top-four spot for the first time since the opening weekend of the season.
It is this impressive form, according to the Independent, that has convinced United they want to appoint Solskjaer as their permanent manager, despite them having little intention of doing so when they hired him:
Although the club previously had little intention of making the Old Trafford legend permanent manager in December, he has proven so convincing that a series of key sources now see it as almost inevitable.
Should United wait till the end of the season?
While Solskjaer has no doubt done an impressive job so far, would United not be better served waiting till the end of the season to appoint a permanent boss?
The main reason for this being United are about to start a tough run of games that would give a much better idea of how Solskjaer would perform if appointed permanently.
Granted, praise should be lavished on Solskjaer for the job he has done so far. But United’s next three games are against PSG, Chelsea and Liverpool.
United then have a similarly tough run of games later in the season vs PSG, Arsenal and Manchester City.
If Solskjaer performs well in these games then United should seriously consider making him their new manager.
Nevertheless, there is still three months of the season remaining, so, why rush into anything?
