Man United, Man City, Barcelona & more discover European fates as dates revealed for CL & EL quarters

The dates for the next round of ties in both the Champions League and Europa League have today been made official, with a host of European football’s biggest clubs having discovered not only their upcoming opponents, but when their respective matchups are set to take place.

Man City vs Juventus?/Barcelona vs Bayern?

Following the conclusion of the remainder of the domestic 2019/20 campaign over the coming weeks, attentions will switch back to European competition next month.

After a lengthy hiatus amid the COVID-19 crisis, the Champions League and Europa League will officially get back underway in August.

The tournaments are of course set to take on a new, special format, whereby one-off meetings will decide all quarter-final and semi-final outcomes.

As things stand, 12 clubs remain in the running for the Champions League crown, with 16 hopeful of Europa League glory.

The quarter-final draws for both competitions were made official earlier today, with a number of mouthwatering ties in prospect, as showcased below:

European schedules

Along with the draw for the next round of fixtures, meanwhile, fans have also been provided with news of exactly when their respective clubs will be returning to European action.

First up will be the Europa League, with all 16 sides set to battle it out for a spot in the tournament’s quarter-finals over the course of the 5th and 6th of August.

Manchester United will take to the pitch on the former, with Nuno Espirito Santo’s Wolves in action 24 hours later.

As for the Champions League, proceedings are set to get back underway on Friday the 7th, with the 2nd-legs of the last-16 ties between Juventus and Lyon, and Real Madrid and Manchester City.

The ensuing Saturday will see Bayern Munich aim to finish off Chelsea, before Barcelona welcome Napoli to the Camp Nou.

The final-8 matchups then begin just 4 days later, with the schedule as follows:

Wednesday 12th: Atalanta vs PSG

Thursday 13th: RB Leipzig vs Atletico Madrid

Friday 14th: Napoli/Barcelona vs Chelsea/Bayern Munich

Saturday 15th: Real Madrid/Man City vs Lyon/Juventus
