As per a report from the Guardian, Premier League giants Manchester United are readying an offer of £25 million for Fulham defender Ryan Sessegnon.
Despite having only turned 17 in May, Sessegnon, an England U19 international, has already established himself as a mainstay in Slaviša Jokanović’s Fulham side.
An attack-minded left-back known for his ability to get forward to great effect while maintaining his defensive responsibilities, Sessegnon made 30 appearances for the Championship side last season, racking up a hugely impressive 7 goals and 3 assists from his full-back berth.
And he has carried his impressive form into the current campaign, appearing in all 22 of Fulham’s league games to this point, with 4 goals and 2 assists to show for his efforts (including a hat-trick during an incredible 5-4 win over Sheffield United last month).
Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United have long been linked with a move for Sessegnon, with the aforementioned report from the Guardian today claiming that the Red Devils will table an offer of £25 million upon the opening of the winter transfer market next month.
United are known to be in the market for reinforcements at left-back, with Luke Shaw having reportedly been informed that he is free to leave Old Trafford next month, and Mourinho refusing to place his faith in Daley Blind on a consistent basis.
Along with United, all of Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham have been named as potential destinations for Sessegnon, with the possibility also existing that, should Danny Rose make the move to Old Trafford in the near future, that Spurs will target the Fulham prodigy as his replacement.
