City to draw
Ryan Giggs has claimed that while Manchester United were unable to take points off Manchester City at Old Trafford in the derby, he thinks that Swansea will become only the second team this season in the Premier League to take points from Pep Guardiola’s men.
The first – and currently last side – were of course Everton, and it seems that City are on an unstoppable role so far this season.
However, Giggs thinks there might be life in the title race yet.
“I’ll go with City,” he told Sky Sports’ Super 6.
“No I’ll go for a draw, 1-1. Upset.”
That being said, two points would only take the gap back down to nine points, and that’s providing United win themselves, and given they’re set to be without Paul Pogba for two more games that’s far from guaranteed.
Ahead of the game against Swansea, Guardiola spoke about the incident after the Manchester derby, and said that they have respect for all their opponents, no matter if they win or lose.
He added that some players celebrate with fans and others do it in the dressing room and doesn’t really see an issue with anything that people have said ahead of the game.
“After the game, the players shake hands – no problem at all – and some players go and celebrate with the fans as normal.
“After that we went to the locker room and I encourage to the players to celebrate victories but, of course, inside the locker room. Of course, with huge respect for our opponents, not just Manchester United.
“When we lose we have to accept defeat and when we win to try to celebrate it.
“I am the guy who encouraged them to celebrate it in that moment but between each other. That is what we did.”
