Man United handed double personnel boost ahead of Leeds

The latest word stemming from the training ground of Premier League giants Manchester United spells altogether positive news ahead of the club's upcoming showdown with Leeds.

This comes with Ralf Rangnick looking set to have his options boosted by the return of not one, but two key players.

First up comes Raphael Varane.

Stopper Varane was forced to pull out of contention for the Red Devils' meeting with Brighton on Tuesday night, owing to what was later described as 'stomach problems'.

As confirmed by the Manchester Evening News, though, the French international was spotted back in training earlier today, and will therefore be expected to feature from the off at Elland Road on Sunday afternoon.

Joining Varane back in the first-team fold at Carrington, meanwhile, was Edinson Cavani.

After featuring from the off in the club's meeting with Burnley last week, Uruguayan international Cavani went on to miss United's clashes with both Southampton and Brighton through injury.

The veteran hitman, though, marked his return to training on Thursday, and should therefore be available for selection this weekend, too.

Ronaldo amongst the goals

Despite the absence of both Varane and Cavani, Manchester United, of course, ultimately managed to emerge with a vital three points versus Brighton on Tuesday.

Cristiano Ronaldo opened the day's scoring at Old Trafford, bringing to an end a lengthy dry streak in front of goal in the process.

And another heavily criticised member of Rangnick's ranks made sure of victory deep into injury time, as Bruno Fernandes latched onto Paul Pogba's pass, driving forward before slotting past Robert Sanchez in style.

The Reds, in turn, head into the weekend's latest round of Premier League action having reestablished themselves in the top-4.
