Man United fans praise connection between Ashley Young and Marouane Fellaini

Supporters of Manchester United have this afternoon taken to social media to heap praise on the partnership between Ashley Young and Marouane Fellaini, following the latter’s goal versus Crystal Palace.

The two sides went head-to-head in a Premier League clash at Old Trafford this afternoon, with many predicting a hammering for the visitors pre-match.

United came into proceedings having won 7 of their 8 fixtures across all competitions so far this season, while Palace were yet to earn a point or even score a goal in the Premier League.

Palace behind (again)

And it didn’t take long for the clash to follow the exact pattern that had been predicted ahead of kick-off, as the Red Devils took the lead with just 3 minutes on the clock.

Following some stellar work down the left by the impressive Marcus Rashford, his drilled cross was perfectly swept home by the incoming Juan Mata from the edge of Palace’s box.

Somewhat surprisingly, it took United a further half hour to notch their second of the day, with the goal coming courtesy of two of the club’s lesser-celebrated stars, Marouane Fellaini and Ashley Young.

Following more good work down the home side’s left, Young, who has looked dangerous from his full-back berth over recent weeks, whipped a delicious delivery towards the back post, where the unmarked Fellaini arrived to volley home from close range.

Red Devils fans were quick to sing the praises of the connection between the two, with Young having also provided the assist for Fellaini’s last goal for United, in the Champions League versus Basel.
