Man United double injury boost against Swansea U23

Man United play Swansea again

Man United have started the Premier League season on fire.

After beating West Ham 4-0 in the opening weekend, Man United beat Swansea 4-0 on Saturday.

While Juan Mata may have noticed that the scoreline against Swansea may have flattered the Red Devils, the fact remains this is the best start Man United have every made to a league campaign.

On Monday night, Man United’s under-23s will take on Swansea, and the game should see two stars return to action.

Luke Shaw & Ashley Young

Luke Shaw has not played since last season’s Premier League match against Saturday’s opponents Swansea City on 30 April, while Ashley Young has been absent since the UEFA Europa League semi-final tie at Celta Vigo on 4 May.

Should Shaw and Young both play against Swansea as expected, that will increase Jose Mourinho’s selection options dramatically.

Does that mean both players are in line for first team recalls?

That seems less likely in the imminent future, as neither Shaw nor Young took part in Man United’s pre-season.

Next weekend Man United take on Leicester at Old Trafford.
