ESPN have recently provided some insight into Manchester United’s plans for highly-rated Dean Henderson.
The last couple of seasons have seen Dean Henderson cement himself as one of the most promising young goalkeepers in English football.
Henderson, a Manchester United youth product, joined Sheffield United on a season-long loan for the 2018/19 campaign.
The now 23-year-old went on to enjoy an outstanding 2018/19 in the Championship, keeping 21 clean sheets in 46 appearances as the Blades secured promotion to the English top-flight.
Chris Wilder’s side then acquired the services of Henderson for a second season last summer.
And though some may have expected Henderson’s displays to dip off somewhat after stepping up a level, that has since proven far from the case.
Before the current campaign was halted, the Englishman had conceded just 22 goals in 27 Premier League fixtures, with Sheffield United boasting one of the best defensive records in the division.

Man United unwilling to sell Henderson
Under normal circumstances, Man United would no doubt love to have a talent of the calibre of Henderson waiting in the wings.
However, the Red Devils still have David de Gea on their books, and judging by recent comments from the Spaniard, it doesn’t sound as though he will be departing Old Trafford anytime soon.
This leaves Henderson in a tricky situation, as whilst he clearly possesses all of the attributes to become a top goalkeeper, it is hard to see Ole Gunnar Solskjaer benching de Gea.
Henderson’s recent exploits have also seemingly attracted the interest of some top clubs, including Chelsea.
As such, if he cannot secure the no.1 jersey at United, perhaps Henderson would consider signing for a club like Chelsea?
Luckily for those United fans who want to see Henderson remain in Manchester, though, United are apparently not looking to sell their young keeper anytime soon.
According to ESPN, United are determined to resist any bids for Henderson in the next transfer window.
But despite this, Henderson will not be sticking around next season, with ESPN going on to claim that the Red Devils will instead look to secure another loan move for their 11-time capped England under-21 international.
