Man United boss Solskjaer ‘not worried’ about Martial amid struggles in front of goal

West Ham vs Man United

Manchester United are set to face off with West Ham on Saturday evening.

The Red Devils head into the clash aiming to bounce back from a 3-1 loss to PSG in midweek.

Nevertheless, United will likely still be quietly confident of getting a result later today.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have won their last three league outings, and have looked a considerably better side away from home this term.

West Ham, though, will prove no pushovers, with David Moyes’ side currently 5th in the English top-flight, having lost just one of their last five.

Solskjaer on Martial

Ahead of his side’s upcoming outing, meanwhile, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has this weekend been discussing Anthony Martial.

The Frenchman has endured an indifferent start to the 2020/21 campaign.

Martial has netted twice in the Champions League, but is yet to get off the mark in the Premier League, with his recent displays for France having also proven disappointing.

However, when speaking about his side’s hitman during a recent interview, Solskjaer backed Martial to ‘get going’:

“As you said, the sending off [against Tottenham] stopped his season a little bit because he was just getting going, I felt. We are very happy with his contribution.

“On Wednesday night, everyone points to the one chance he misses but what about the chances he set up? His overall contribution to the team, his cleverness, even his defending is improving.

“As a striker you’re measured by goals. As soon as you get one, if it’s off his backside or back of his head or heel it doesn’t matter. He’ll get going Anthony, I’m not worried about that.”
