According to a report from Sky Sports Germany, Premier League giants Manchester United and Arsenal are both keeping an eye on the situation of Marco Reus at Borussia Dortmund.
Reus, who has long been regarded as one of the most talented players in the German top-flight, has seen his career plighted by a number of long-term injuries.
The 28-year-old’s most recent ailment saw him rupture his cruciate ligament, likely leaving him sidelined until next year.
However, despite his widely-discussed fitness problems, a number of top clubs from around Europe are said to be readying January proposals to the German international, with his contract at the Westfalenstadion set to expire at the end of the season.
As per the aforementioned report from Sky Sports Germany, Manchester United and Arsenal represent two of these sides, with both outfits known to be on the lookout for reinforcements out wide.
Arsenal are preparing for the likely departure of Alexis Sanchez, either in January or next summer, and have been linked with a move for Reus on numerous occasions in the past.
Manchester United, meanwhile, spent much of the summer seeking a winger, with the club’s public chase of Inter Milan star Ivan Perisic having eventually ended in failure.
However, the Red Devils will reportedly once again attempt to secure a wide-man upon the opening of the winter transfer market in January, with Reus atop their list of targets.
Along with United and Arsenal, all of Bayern Munich, PSG and Barcelona are also thought to maintain an interest in Reus’ signature, with Dortmund set for a major fight to hold onto their gifted attacker.
