Man United searching for a right-back
Antonio Valencia left Manchester United at the end of the 2018/19 season when his contract expired.
Valencia spent 10 years at Old Trafford after joining from Wigan in 2009.
After Valencia departed, United were left a little short staffed in the right-back department.
Ashley Young did spend a good portion of the 2018/19 season in said position.
However, Young is now 33 years of age and in the twilight years of his career.
The Red Devils do have Matteo Darmian available to play on the right-hand side of the defence.
However, the Italian played just six league games last season, and is being linked with a move away from Manchester.
United then have Diogo Dalot available at right-back, but the 20-year-old doesn’t seem to have impressed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer enough to convince his boss that he can be Man United’s main right-back for the upcoming season.
United agree £55m fee
This is because Manchester United look to have agreed a fee for Crystal Palace right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
Earlier this month, Sky Sports reported that United had seen a £40 million bid rejected by the Eagles for Wan-Bissaka.
Then, on Tuesday the 19th of June, rumours began to emerge that United were looking at Norwich’s Max Aarons as an alternative to AWB.

However, reliable journalist Duncan Castles, writing for the Daily Record, has, on Tuesday evening, reported that Man United have agreed a staggering £55 million fee for Wan-Bissaka.
