Man City’s Kevin De Bruyne could miss Liverpool clash in February

Liverpool vs Burnley

This week’s Premier League action will continue later today, when Liverpool play host to Burnley.

The Reds head into the tie in desperate need of all 3 points, amid a serious dip in form.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are winless in their last four league outings – a run which has seen them slip down to 4th in the English top-flight, four points adrift of top spot.

However, they shouldn’t have too much of an issue picking up a win against the Clarets.

Liverpool are at home on Thursday, and of course, boast a remarkable 68-game unbeaten streak at Anfield in league action.

Burnley, meanwhile, despite the common perception that they pose a nightmare threat for big clubs, actually possess an awful record against the ‘top-six’.

Against Liverpool, for example, they have managed just a solitary win in all competitions since 2005, a stretch which includes a hefty 9 defeats.

Whilst Liverpool are therefore no doubt fully focused on tonight’s matchup, they also have a much more high-profile outing on the horizon.

On the 7th of February, the Reds will play host to Manchester City, in a Premier League showdown.

The clash, of course, could well have a major impact on this season’s title race, with both clubs firmly in the hunt at present.

City, though, may be forced to face their title rivals without the services of a key player.

Concern spread for Kevin De Bruyne on Wednesday, when the Belgian was forced off during Man City’s win over Aston Villa.

Pep Guardiola, meanwhile, went on to state post-match that KDB may have picked up a muscle issue.

And now, as per a report from The Athletic on Wednesday evening, it is claimed that the Sky Blues standout could be absent vs Liverpool, amid suggestions of a hamstring problem:
