Man City’s Gabriel Jesus & John Stones are injured

Schalke vs Manchester City

Manchester City will believe they have a great chance to advance in the Champions League when they face Schalke in the last-16.

The Sky Blues head to Germany this week for the first leg.

Man City are top of the Premier League, ahead of Liverpool on goal difference.

Schalke are down in 14th place in the Bundesliga, while they come into the match with just one win in their last five outings.

Gabriel Jesus & John Stones are injured

Pep Guardiola appears to have lost two key players before the Schalke match.

It’s been reported that both Gabriel Jesus and John Stones are injured.

Both Stones and Jesus have “muscular problems”, and are rated as doubts for the Schalke match.

One suspects Guardiola will rest both players as a precaution, with even bigger games on the horizon.

Man City take on Chelsea at Wembley in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday.

Benjamin Mendy is back

In sunnier news for the City fans, French left-back Benjamin Mendy is back in training with the first team.

Mendy has missed large chunks of the season with injury problems.

If everything goes well, the World Cup winner could make his return to action in a couple of weeks.
