Pep Guardiola appears to have lost two key players before the Schalke match.
It’s been reported that both Gabriel Jesus and John Stones are injured.
Both Stones and Jesus have “muscular problems”, and are rated as doubts for the Schalke match.
One suspects Guardiola will rest both players as a precaution, with even bigger games on the horizon.
Man City take on Chelsea at Wembley in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday.

Benjamin Mendy is back
In sunnier news for the City fans, French left-back Benjamin Mendy is back in training with the first team.
Mendy has missed large chunks of the season with injury problems.
If everything goes well, the World Cup winner could make his return to action in a couple of weeks.

Benjamin Mendy returned to training this afternoon, joining Vincent Kompany and Eliaquim Mangala back on the training pitch!
All three are likely to be available for selection in a week or so.
