Man City’s Eliaquim Mangala had a horrific Everton debut vs Arsenal
Man City’s Eliaquim Mangala & Everton
Maybe Newcastle United dodged a bullet!
On the final day of the January transfer window, one of the players in demand was Man City’s Eliaquim Mangala.
After the arrival of Aymeric Laporte at Man City, Mangala was allowed to leave the Etihad Stadium.
Newcastle wanted the defender, but Mangala ended up joining Everton.
On Saturday evening at Arsenal, Mangala received his Everton debut, however the Man City centre-half had a shocker against the Gunners.
Mangala’s three mistakes vs Arsenal
Arsenal were rampant against Everton in the first half, scoring three goals inside 19 minutes.
And all three goals included errors from Everton new boy Mangala.
The Gunners carved Everton open with a brilliant opener. Mesut Ozil, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mhkitaryan all combined before Aaron Ramsey scored.
Ramsey found room in the Everton box after Mangala lost the Welshman in the box.

Laurent Koscielny doubled Arsenal’s lead with a header from a corner. Once again Mangala was at fault as he failed to pick up the Frenchman in the box.

Ramsey put Arsenal 3-up in the 19th minute with a shot from distance.
As his luck would have it, Mangala turned his back on Ramsey’s shot as he tried to block it. Instead the ball deflected off the Man City loanee and into the Toffees’ net.
What a nightmare!

Cue the social media hate.
Sam Allardyce obviously thought Everton just weren't slow and clumsy enough, and needed someone else to come in and sort it.
Eliaquim Mangala stuck his hand up and said: "I'm your man."
