Man City’s Bacary Sagna charged with misconduct for Instagram post

Sagna’s Instagram post

Bacary Sagna isn’t the most active man in the world when it comes to social media, but his Instagram post last week caused quite a stir.

The French defender was, like his manager Pep Guardiola, livid with the officiating in Man City’s 2-1 win over Burnley last week, and couldn’t resist taking a pop on Instagram afterwards.

Sagna was livid with the Fernandinho sending off, as well as the Burnley goal, in which City keeper Claudio Bravo was blatantly fouled.

Sagna wrote ’10 against 12′ in his post, implicitly blaming the ref for siding with Burnley and actively going against City, which is a pretty strong claim to make.

He later went back and edited his post, but the damage was done.

FA charge defender for misconduct

The FA didn’t take at all kindly to the inference made in Sagna’s post, and they’ve now charged the defender with misconduct.

He could now be fined or even given a one/two match ban, depending on how the FA judge the situation.
