Man City to offer news deal to a number of first-team squad, including Phil Foden

Man City to offer news deal to a number of first-team squad, including Phil Foden

Manchester City appear to be looking to tie down some of their first-team stars in the current summer window.

John Stones signs

News of course broke on Tuesday that John Stones had penned fresh terms with the club that would see him stay at the Etihad until at least 2026:

This came on the back of a starring 2020/21 campaign which saw the Englishman form a formidable partnership at the base of Manchester City’s defence with new signing, Ruben Dias.

City would keep the best defence in the league en route to another Premier League title and Stones played a key part in that.

This up-turn in form also saw Stones be a vital part of England’s Euro 2020 campaign, with the Three Lions’ backline also the best in the competition – conceding just two goals all tournament.

Man City eye deals for first-team stars

And now, it appears Man City are aiming to tie several more first-team players down to new deals.

As per Goal, City are set to offer contracts to the likes of Phil Foden, Ederson and Raheem Sterling.

All still have a least a couple of years to run on their current deals.

However, it is added that Man City are keen to avoid a situation where a player’s contract runs down too much so the club have to accept a reduced transfer fee for them, like they did when Leroy Sane signed for Bayern Munich.
