Man City to make decisions over six players heading into summer – Mirror

Man City fail to keep up with Liverpool

The previous two campaigns saw Manchester City dominate English football.

The Manchester powerhouse enjoyed a record-breaking 2017/18 campaign, garnering 100 points in the Premier League, the most of any PL side in a single season.

Last season then saw the Sky Blues become the first male English side to clinch the domestic treble.

City would also earn an impressive 98 points in the league.

However, the 2019/20 campaign hasn’t been as fruitful for Man City.

City began Sunday sat 22 points adrift of table-topping Liverpool, and with over half of the season behind us, it is hard to see Man City catching Jurgen Klopp’s side this term.

Man City were then dealt a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Spurs on Sunday.

Man City to make decisions over six players

And whilst Liverpool have certainly been outstanding this campaign, Pep Guardiola’s side have been far from their best.

After 25 games of the season, City have been handed six Premier League defeats, two more than they were dealt in the entirety of last campaign.

The Sky Blues have also already conceded more goals in 25 games this season (29) than they did throughout the full campaign in 2018/19 (23).

So, given Man City just haven’t been up to scratch this season, it shouldn’t be too much of a surprise to hear that they are considering somewhat of a squad overhaul in the summer.

According to the Mirror, decisions will be made on John Stones, Benjamin Mendy, Leroy Sane, Gabriel Jesus, Joao Cancelo and Nicolas Otamendi.

As a result, the Mirror is also claiming that Man City are braced to make at least five new signings
