Manchester City blitz Everton
Whilst their Champions League opponents Liverpool hat to battle and scrap for all three points at Crystal Palace, it was a different story for Manchester City at Everton.
Pep Guardiola’s side continued where they left off before the international break and waltzed through Everton like they were not even there during an impressive first half.
It took just four minutes for Manchester City to open the scoring thanks to Leroy Sane. David Silva bagging yet another assist.
Gabriel Jesus made it 2-0 on 12 minutes. Gabriel Jesus scoring, after Kevin De Bruyne’s latest perfect cross.
And, before half-time it was 3-0. Raheem Sterling continuing his fine season with another goal. Silva the architect.
Manchester City to win the Premier League vs Manchester United!
Manchester City can now win the Premier League when they play Manchester United at The Etihad a week today.
For Manchester City fans who lived through Manchester United dominating the Premier League, this must be simply incredible.
If Manchester City do claim all three points next week, it will be the earliest a side has ever won the Premier League in a calendar year.
Manchester United’s Premier League record is on the line!
The earliest previously was April 14 by Manchester United in 2001.
Manchester City with a win next week, will have claimed the Premier League title on April 7, 2018!
Were they to fail to win next week, Manchester City would have to wait until April 14, 2018 for when they play Spurs in the Premier League for their next game.
So, Manchester City, if they want this particular record, will have to beat their great rivals to grab it!
So, as it stands, a City win over United next week seals the Premier League title. That would be 7 April. Earliest, it's gone was 14 April in 2001, when Arsenal lost 3-0 at home to Middlesbrough to give it to United themselves.
