On the move
Manchester City and Manchester United target Fred has admitted that he wants to leave Shakhtar Donetsk in the summer transfer window.
The Brazilian star has been linked with moves to both sides of Manchester over the past couple of months.
His performances in the Champions League have been particularly impressive and he also impressed during Shakhtar’s win over Man City.
That has lead to much speculation over the midfielder’s future and it now looks to be just a matter of time before he moves on.
That is because the payer has confirmed that clubs in England and France are interested in signing him.
He has also made it clear that he wants to make ‘a bigger leap’ in his career.
He has also explained that he will look for a move following the conclusion of the World Cup.
‘I made it clear to the club that I was very happy here but I want to make a bigger leap in my career,’ he told SporTV, as cited by the Daily Mail.
‘There are other clubs interested in England and France. I want to make a bigger leap, I made it clear to the club.
‘Now I just have to wait to get through the World Cup and see which is the best destination.
‘I think I have to change a little. I have dreams of playing in major clubs in Europe. I made it clear that it’s my moment.
‘The club are reluctant to release [me]. I have a contract until 2021. As soon as I come back from the World Cup we will sit down, talk and look at the options.’
Fred is no longer a priority of Manchester City. According to people involved in talks, Jorginho is the midfielder Pep Guardiola wants and meetings have been held recently in Spain. Manchester United is now Fred’s most likely destination. [UOL Esporte] pic.twitter.com/WzdTpnc3ri
