Man City & Man United have sent offers to Rayan Ait-Nouri’s representative – Foot Mercato

A report from France on Thursday has linked Rayan Ait-Nouri with a number of sides, including Manchester City and Manchester United.

Nouri’s Angers stint

Nouri is currently plying his trade in France with SCO Angers.

The 19-year-old joined the Ligue 1 outfit in the summer of 2016 on a free transfer.

And after impressing at youth level, Nouri was subsequently handed his senior debut during the 2018/19 campaign.

Nouri would go on to make just three senior appearances over the course of the season. But despite his limited experience, the France under-21 international was handed a prominent role in Angers’ backline in 2019/20.

The Ligue 1 season was, of course, cut short due to Covid-19. But that didn’t stop Nouri, who also spent time out with a fractured jaw, notching 17 league appearances this season.

Nouri attracting interest from Manchester

Nouri has just shy of three years left on his current deal with Angers.

However, his impressive displays throughout the season appear to have caught the eye of some of Europe’s top sides.

As per a report from French outlet Foot Mercato on Thursday, the left-back is of interest to a number of clubs, two of whom come in the form of Manchester United and Manchester City.

It is even claimed that both Manchester outfits have sent offers to Nouri’s representative, well-known super-agent Jorge Mendes.

Mendes is also understood to have accompanied Nouri when he arrived in England on Tuesday to visit the facilities of several clubs, including United and City.

In terms of a fee for the youngster, Foot Mercato claim that Nouri could become the most expensive player in  Angers’ history, a title currently held by Jeff Reine-Adélaïde, who was sold to Lyon for a total of €32m.

Such a fee appears a tad steep for such a young player with little top-flight experience to his name, and given the fact that Man United already have Luke Shaw and Brandon Williams as left-back options, it is hard to see them splashing out on Nouri.

Man City therefore looks a slightly more realistic destination, considering none of the Citizens’ left-back options have been too impressive this term.

Outside of the Manchester clubs, meanwhile, all of Atletico Madrid, Wolves, Leicester, PSG, Crystal Palace and Monaco are also named as interested parties.
