Man City looking to sign as many as five more players in transfer window – Sky

Man City sign Torres/ Ake close

The 2019/20 Premier League summer transfer window has been open for less than two weeks.

However, Manchester City have already been very active in their recruitment plans.

It was officially announced on Tuesday that the Citizens had secured the services of Ferran Torres from Valencia for a fee believed to be in the region of £20m.

Torres, a 20-year-old pacey winger, will no doubt make a solid replacement for the recently departed Leroy Sane.

And whilst no official announcement has yet been forthcoming, Bournemouth’s Nathan Ake looks extremely close to making the switch to the Etihad.

Man City eyeing more recruits

So, with Torres in the door and Ake seemingly not far behind, City fans may perhaps be expecting one or two more additions at most?

However, if a recent report from Sky Sports News is anything to go by, the Sky Blues are far from done with their summer recruitment.

Sky assert that:

Manchester City are looking to sign as many as five more players during the transfer window and want their business done by the start of the new season on September 12.

In terms of the positions being targeted by City, the report claims that a left-back and second centre-half addition are now the top priorities for the Manchester powerhouse – a sentence City fans are unlikely to be too shocked by given how woeful their backline has been this term.

Sky go on to name drop Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly as the likely second centre-back option, though as we covered recently, it looks as though City will have to part ways with at least €90m to land the stopper.

Man City are also believed to be on the lookout for long-term replacements for the recently departed David Silva and an aging Sergio Aguero, with Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez touted as the No.1 choice to replace his fellow countryman.
