According to reports in England, Premier League leaders Manchester City are considering a January move for Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez.
Mahrez was heavily linked with a departure from the King Power stadium during the summer, having made public his intent to move to a top club.
The likes of Chelsea, PSG, Roma, Arsenal, Spurs and Barcelona were all linked with moves for the talented Algerian, but Leicester, in the end, held firm, rejecting reported bids of up to 35 million Euro from Roma.
However, as per a growing number of outlets in England over the last couple of days, the Foxes look set for another battle to hold onto their crown jewel in January, with Manchester City readying a move for the former Le Havre man.
Citizens’ boss Pep Guardiola is rumoured to be a long-term admirer of the talents of Mahrez, and hopes to lure the African wide-man to the Etihad with the promise of competing for titles on a yearly basis.
However, if Mahrez does opt to make the move to Manchester, he will likely find regular game-time tough to come by, with Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane currently holding down the wing positions for Guardiola’s side in extremely impressive fashion.
Next up for the free-scoring Citizens is a Champions League matchup with Dutch outfit Feyenoord at the Etihad this evening.
The Premier League leaders have already secured their place in the competition’s last 16, and could potentially ensure top spot in the Group F table this evening.
