Kevin De Bruyne vs Leicester

Man City: Kevin De Bruyne ready to ‘wreak havoc in the Premier League’

Yokohama F.Marinos 1 – Manchester City 3

Man City closed out their pre-season tour of Asia on Saturday with a 3-1 win over Yokohama F.Marinos.

Kevin De Bruyne opened the scoring for the Sky Blues.

Raheem Sterling scored City’s second in the 40th minute, while Lukas Nmecha bagged a late third.

Sunday Times focus on Kevin De Bruyne

In his report following Man City’s win in Yokohama, the Sunday Times’ Paul Hirst focused in on Kevin De Bruyne.

The rest of the Premier League have been served with a warning:

If his pre-season form is anything to go by, De Bruyne is in the mood to wreak havoc in the Premier League again.

He is determined to make up for the disappointment of missing a large chunk of last season’s treble-winning campaign through knee and hamstring problems.

Kevin De Bruyne: Pre-season highlights

Against Yokohama F.Marinos, De Bruyne put City ahead with a terrific left-footed strike after cutting in from the right.

Five minutes before the break, De Bruyne showed off his creative side.

The Belgian threaded a forward pass into the path of Raheem Sterling, who raced through to finish.

Earlier in Man City’s tour, a clip of a De Bruyne pass to Sterling against Wolves went viral.

As commented by Paul Hirst, De Bruyne “was the best player on the pitch in all four (of Man City’s pre-season) games.”
