Man City: John Stones injury update before Bournemouth

John Stones injury update before Bournemouth

Next weekend, Man City travel to Bournemouth in the Premier League.

The Sky Blues will be looking to bounce back after dropping two points against Tottenham.

Against Spurs, Pep Guardiola lined-up Nicolas Otamendi alongside Aymeric Laporte at the heart of his defence.

Otamendi’s inclusion was something of a surprise, as John Stones had previously started against West Ham in round one.

Guardiola later confirmed that Stones missed the Tottenham match through injury, while the stopper’s availability against Bournemouth is also in doubt:

I don’t know (how long Stones will be out for). One week, (maybe) 10 days.

He had a little muscular problem.

Man City’s other injury updates

Oleksandr Zinchenko confirmed that he had cramp towards the end of Saturday’s match against Tottenham.

The Ukrainian left-back is expected to be fit for the Bournemouth game.

However, Benjamin Mendy and Leroy Sane are set to miss the match against the Cherries with respective knee injuries.

Bournemouth: Seven players missing

Bournemouth will come into the Man City game on the back of a 2-1 away win at Aston Villa.

Eddie Howe, however, has seven players on the treatment table right now.

Simon Francis, Lewis Cook and Junior Stanislas are all out with knee injuries.

David Brooks, Lloyd Kelly and Arnaut Danjuma Groeneveld all have foot/ankle issues.

Finally, Dan Gosling is sidelined with a hip muscle injury.
