Man City vs Burnley: Kevin De Bruyne injury update

De Bruyne’s fitness

Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne could be set to return to the club’s first team after the international break.

ESPN report he could be back as soon as the Burnley game.

That would be huge for the club, especially given the strength of the Premier League this season.

The title race is more competitive than ever, so having their star man back can only help.

The games come thick and fast once teams return from their international sides.

Pep Guardiola will want all his top players fit and ready to play.

City also have the Champions League to worry about, where they need to pick up points, and fast.

Only having three points so far, the club know they need to pick up the pace.

They also have to keep Liverpool and Chelsea on their toes at the top of the Premier League table.

A point vs Liverpool

Man City managed a point against Liverpool at Anfield.

Given their record there, it’s a point gained and not two lost.

However, after getting a late penalty in the game, they will think themselves unlucky not to have won all three.

Riyad Mahrez of course missed the penalty, and Gabriel Jesus made his feelings on the situation clear.

However, being joint top of the Premier League table going into the second international break is a huge positive.
