The Argentinian Football Association have this afternoon released their 22-man squad for the country’s upcoming friendly clashes.
La Albiceleste are set for a pair of glamour ties with Italy and Spain on the 23rd and 27th of March respectively, the last fixtures for Jorge Sampaoli’s men before the South Americans open their World Cup campaign versus Iceland on the 16th of June.
And Sampaoli’s squad has been announced this afternoon, with representatives from a number of Premier League clubs included.
Manchester United’s Sergio Romero and Chelsea’s Willy Caballero are set to vie with Tigres’ shot-stopper Nahuel Guzman for a place between the posts, with all of Marcos Rojo, Nicolas Otamendi and Ramiro Funes Mori also included from United, Manchester City and Everton respectively.
West Ham star Manuel Lanzini is rewarded for his recent form with a call-up of his own, with former Hammers’ and Liverpool enforcer Javier Mascherano also named.
Manchester City’s second representative comes in the attacking department, with Sergio Aguero joined by the likes of Lionel Messi and Gonzalo Higuain in a star-studded Albiceleste front-line.
