Man City edge Liverpool in the PFA Team of the Year as Paul Pogba makes XI

Man City 1st, Liverpool 2nd

Wednesday was massive for Man City.

The Sky Blues are now the firm favourites to win the Premier League title after a 2-0 victory at Man United.

Second half goals from Bernardo Silva and Leroy Sane earned City the pivotal win at Old Trafford.

The win lifted Man City above Liverpool to the summit of the league.

Both City and Liverpool have three matches remaining.

If City win all their games they will be crowned champions, regardless of how Liverpool finish the season.

PFA Team of the Year

On Thursday the PFA Team of the Year have been revealed.

Manchester City have edged out Liverpool as six Sky Blues players made the team compared to just five from Anfield.

The PFA XI is as follows.

Defence: Ederson (Manchester City); Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool), Aymeric Laporte (Manchester City), Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool), Andy Robertson (Liverpool)

Midfield: Paul Pogba (Manchester United), Fernandinho (Manchester City), Bernardo Silva (Manchester City)

Attack: Raheem Sterling (Manchester City), Sergio Agüero (Manchester City), Sadio Mané (Liverpool).

Man United’s Paul Pogba

Undoubtedly the big talking point from the PFA team was the inclusion of Man United’s Paul Pogba.

Should the French World Cup winner have been selected?

Pogba returned to form when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took over from Jose Mourinho. However Pogba has also suffered during large parts of the season as his attitude and commitment have come into question.
