Manchester City have already done some pretty impressive transfer business this summer, and it seems that Pep Guardiola is planning on bringing in more players before the window closes.
In a further indication Guardiola plans on staying for some time, he spoke about buying players for the future, and making sure that there are young players in the team that the club can rely on for years to come.
He didn’t however say much about the academy or the young players City already have, and it seems the club will be buying in instead of promoting from within for the upcoming season.
The BBC report Pep said: “We are talking to three or four players – with the next three, four, five years in mind. They are young players.
“We have options for players coming, but until the deal is done, out of respect for the other clubs I cannot say anything.
“Mendy is the same case as Danilo, we have targets and we see what happens. He’s a Monaco player so I’m quiet in my comments.”
One player who has joined from a north London club is Kyle Walker, yet while Tottenham felt taking the money for one of their most high profile players was a good idea, Arsenal certainly do not.
Arsene Wenger has again been speaking about the chances of Alexis being allowed to leave – and as ever, has come out and denied it, with the player himself accepting he may have to stay at the club and see his final year on his contract out – and then look to move for free next summer, something that would make him a very attractive prospect to a large amount of sides.
