Good for Man City: Bad news for Aaron Ramsey & Sead Kolasinac after Chelsea

Arsenal 1 – Chelsea 1

Arsenal drew 1-1 with Chelsea in a pre-season friendly in Dublin this week.

German defender Antonio Rudiger broke the deadlock in just the fifth minute with a superb header from a corner.

Arsenal levelled in the 92nd minute of the match. French forward Alexandre Lacazette turned home a low cross from Reiss Nelson at the back past.

Arsenal won the match on penalties 6-5.

Aaron Ramsey’s calf injury

Many Arsenal fans re sweating over Aaron Ramsey’s future at the club.

Ramsey has just one year to run on his current Arsenal deal.

While many fans would dearly love Aaron Ramsey to sign a contract extension, so far that’s not materialised.

At the same time Ramsey could miss the start of the Premier League season.

In the warm-up before the Chelsea game, RAmsey pulled up with a calf problem.

Unai Emery will be hoping Ramsey is fit enough for next weekend’s match against Man City at the Emirates Stadium.

Sead Kolasinac injury confirmed

However one player who’ll certainly miss the Man City game for Arsenal is their Bosnian left-back Sead Kolasinac.

In a short but painful update on the Arsenal website, Gunners fans have been told:

(Kolasinac) sustained an injury to his left knee. Will be out for 8-10 weeks.

In recent weeks rumours have flown about that Nacho Monreal could be set to leave Arsenal to return to Spain.

Following the Kolasinac injury update, and considering there is less than a week to go in the transfer window, Monreal now seems set to remain in north London.
