Major update in Man United’s managerial pursuit as Pochettino’s intentions revealed

Major update in Man United’s managerial pursuit as Pochettino’s intentions revealed

A fresh update on the managerial position at Premier League giants Manchester United has been forthcoming late on Sunday night.

Ole on his way

The subject of the bench at Old Trafford has, of course, proven headline news across the day to date.

This comes after long-time Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was finally sent on his way.

On the back of a harrowing 3-0 defeat at the hands of Watford on Saturday afternoon, it was decided earlier today that the Norwegian’s position had become untenable, with an immediate change therefore required:

In turn, with the hotseat now officially vacant on the red half of Manchester, a whole host of high-profile tacticians have since been tipped to take up the reins at United.

The likes of Zinedine Zidane, Erik ten Hag and Brendan Rodgers have all been named as frontrunners for the role, as the Red Devils faithful patiently await confirmation of their side’s next manager.

Poch incoming?

And, as outlined above, late on Sunday, a fresh, and potentially telling insight into the situation has been provided.

The latest info surrounds Mauricio Pochettino, whom it is claimed is a ‘leading candidate’ to secure a return to the Premier League with Man United.

This comes with the Argentine ‘keen’ on the prospect of linking up with Solskjaer’s former squad of players, in the case of an approach on the part of those in a position of power at Old Trafford.

Pochettino’s situation at current club Paris Saint-Germain is understood to be a tense one, with the ex-Tottenham boss’ relationship with sporting director Leonardo not the best.

As a result, a mid-season swoop on United’s part cannot be ruled out, though ‘Poch’ himself is seen as more likely to seek out a new venture in the summer.
