Tottenham’s Son Heung-min at the Asian Games
Tottenham star Son Heung-min is currently away from the Spurs squad.
Following his participation in the World Cup for South Korea in the summer, Son is back on international duty.
Son has been playing for South Korea in the Asian Games.
He’s missed Premier League matches against Fulham and Man United as a result.
Son Heung-min’s military service
Son Heung-min has been competing at the Asian Games for a specific reason.
All South Korean men have to serve two years in the army.
Only in the most special of circumstances are South Koreans given permission to skip their compulsory military service.
For Son, he knew heading to the Asian Games that he needed to win the gold medal in order to gain that military exemption.
Will Tottenham lose Son for 24 months due to his responsibility to serve in the army?
