Watford lose Daryl Janmaat for ‘weeks’
Bad news for Watford.
The Wasserman Media Group, who manage Daryl Janmaat, have confirmed that the Dutch international is injured.
Janmaat has been one of Watford’s standout players at the start of the year. The right-back’s form has earned him a recall to the Dutch national setup.
However Janmaat will now miss the next five to six weeks of action. The Wasserman Media Group announced:
Daryl Janmaat will be out of action in the coming weeks. The 29-year-old player of Watford FC and international of the Dutch national team has undergone a minor intervention on his meniscus and is expected to be out for five to six weeks.
This means that he not only has to miss the upcoming matches of his club Watford in the Premier League, but he also has to miss the matches against Germany (on 13 October) and Belgium (on 16 October).
The 33-year-old has played 90 minutes in five of Watford’s six matches this season.
Kiko Femenia could replace Janmaat at right-back.
Arsenal vs Watford
Arsenal take on Watford in the Premier League on Saturday.
Watford are fourth in the league while Arsenal are sixth.
Aside from Janmaat’s obvious absence, Watford may also be without defender Christian Kabasele against Arsenal.
Kabasele was sent off in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night in a defeat to Tottenham.
