Riyad Mahrez’s Man City stint
Riyad Mahrez began to catch people’s eyes during Leicester City’s history-making 2015/16 campaign.
The Foxes shocked the world and clinched the Premier League title that season, with Mahrez a crucial member of their squad.
In 37 league outings during the 2015/16 season, Mahrez netted 17 and provided 10 assists.
And after a couple more decent seasons at the King Power, the Algerian standout was eventually snapped up by Manchester City in the summer of 2018.
City are believed to have paid upwards of £60m for Mahrez. But despite the hefty price-tag, the now 29-year-old didn’t have the most fruitful 2018/19.
The Sky Blues would, of course, win the domestic treble last term, and Mahrez did make 44 appearances across all competitions.
But Mahrez didn’t start an awful lot of games, especially in the PL at the business end of the campaign.
Mahrez has been afforded more starts so far this season, but that may have something to do with the absence of Leroy Sane.
However, even with a solid amount of game time, Mahrez has been somewhat hit and miss recently.

PSG eyeing move for Mahrez
Now, with the summer edging closer, it has been reported that Mahrez could depart the Etihad in the next transfer window.
According to ESPN, citing Italian outlet Calciomercato, Mahrez will be allowed to leave Man City in the summer.
The same report also claims that PSG are keen to bring Mahrez to the Parc des Princes.
Mahrez is currently contracted to the Citizens until 2023, but, as per ESPN, reports in the Italian press claim that the winger will seek a move elsewhere to ‘quench his desire’ to play Champions League football next season, should City’s current European ban indeed be upheld.
