Lyon’s Tanguy Ndombele talks about Tottenham

French TV show Telefoot released a new interview with Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele on Sunday.

A supposed target for Tottenham, Telefoot pressed Ndombele on his thoughts about Spurs, and on the possibility of him switching clubs this summer. He replied:

Yes, it’s true Tottenham is a great team, it’s a big club.

They finished fourth in a big championship, and are finalists in the Champions League.

It’s a big club, like others. Which player wouldn’t be interested in a big club?

Does this mean Spurs will sign Ndombele?

Maybe. And Tottenham fans will surely appreciate Ndombele’s positive comments.

Over the weekend, Football.London posted the latest update on Tottenham’s chase to sign Ndombele:

Tottenham fans remain hopeful that Tanguy Ndombele will soon be a Spurs player as they look to agree on a deal with Lyon.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side are odds-on at present to sign the midfielder before the transfer deadline, although reports now suggest that Man City may make their move for the player.

Could Ndombele’s price tag be a problem?

Fabrizio Romano, writing for the Guardian, claimed last week that Tottenham and Lyon are €25 million apart in their respective valuations regarding Ndombele.

Spurs are said to value him at €50 million, while Lyon want €75 million for Ndombele.

At the same time, Lyon chairman Jean-Michel Aulas has also admitted that he is negotiating with some top European clubs for the Frenchman:

“I am negotiating with the biggest European clubs for Ndombélé.” As quoted by the Guardian.
