Jean-Michel Aulas, president of Ligue 1 outfit Lyon, has this evening called into question the validity of the reports claiming that Barcelona star Yerry Mina is on the verge of a move to Everton.
Mina, a 23-year-old central defender with 15 international caps (and 6 goals) for Colombia to his name, had been labelled a star of the future in South America for some time before his move from Palmeiras to Barcelona in January, and was named the best defender in the Brazilian top-flight in 2016.
A long-held agreement between the Blaugrana and Palmeiras saw Barca activate a 15 million Euro clause in the stopper’s contract during the winter transfer market, with Mina’s move to the Camp Nou having been made official on the 11th of January:

However, Mina’s time in Catalunya has since proven to be a major disappointment, with the South American having managed just 6 appearances across all competitions (4 starts) over the second-half of the campaign, looking some way short of the prodigious talent that he had previously been touted as in Brazil.
As such, the stopper has already been linked with an imminent exit from the Camp Nou, with the likes of Liverpool, Tottenham, Borussia Dortmund and Fenerbahce just a few of the numerous clubs to have been impressed by Mina’s performances at the World Cup.
The last couple of weeks saw a new contender, in the form of Premier League outfit Everton, named as the favourites to secure a deal for Mina, though, with reliable Spanish journalist Gerard Romero having confirmed last month that the Toffees were ‘the side that like the Colombian the most’:

And, despite stories linking the South American powerhouse with a move to Manchester United having gathered serious pace over the last week, further updates around Europe this morning suggested that Mina was nevertheless on the verge of a big-money move to Goodison Park.
One individual who is not so sure that such a deal is in place, though, is Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas.
Taking to Twitter a short time ago, Aulas, never one to shy away from controversy, revealed his opinion that the information doing the rounds in the media regarding Mina’s imminent move to Everton is not accurate, and that the defender remains ‘very interested’ in a move to Lyon:
OL : Adieu Lyon, Mina file à Everton pour 32 ME https://t.co/Iy350h6Yem via @share @OL @leprogreslyon je ne pense pas que 7 information soit exacte.Yeri est toujours très intéressé par l OL . nous souhaitons tous qu’il soit lyonnais aussi pour jouer la Champion’s League au GS
