Luis Suarez & Man United transfer rumours emerge as the Barcelona striker’s struggles continue

Lyon 0 – Barcelona 0

Many may have thought that Barcelona would breeze past Lyon in their Champions League last-16 tie.

However after Tuesday night’s first leg in France, this tie could go either way.

After a 0-0 draw, Lyon know that if they score once in the Camp Nou, Barcelona will have to score twice to avoid going out on the away goals rule.

Can Lyon do it? The Ligue 1 side previously beat Man City in England, so it’s far from out of the question.

Luis Suarez’s poor form continues

One of the big talking points for Barcelona fans after the Lyon game is the form of Luis Suarez.

Suarez has 16 goals this season. He also recently scored a hat-trick in El Clasico back in December.

Yet there’s the overwhelming consensus opinion that Suarez is massively out of form.

In his last 17 matches, Suarez has only scored once for the Catalans.

Suarez hasn’t scored in the Champions League this season.

In fact, Suarez hasn’t scored away in the Champions League in his last 16 matches.

Luis Suarez & Man United rumours

Suarez’s downturn in form has been latched onto by the Spanish tabloid media.

Dario Gol – an outlet who churn out dubious rumours on a regular basis – have linked Suarez to Manchester United.

Some eye-catching claims are made by Dario Gol.

They believe Man United have “put a lot of money on the table” to convince Barcelona to sell Suarez.

How much exactly? The precise figure is kept under wraps.

In any event, Suarez has reportedly baulked at the opportunity.

That’s because as a former Liverpool player he can’t consider joining Man United, report Dario Gol.

Is any of this true? Have Man United really made a move to try to sign Luis Suarez? That’s up for debate.

Yet perhaps the bigger takeaway from the Dario Gol report is the sense that Suarez’s time at Barcelona could be close to it’s conclusion.
