Portugal 1 – Croatia 0

It was a largely terrible match, but Portugal eventually beat Croatia 1-0 on Saturday night to reach the quarterfinals at Euro 2016.

Portugal reached the last eight thanks to a late winner from sub Ricardo Quaresma, who headed home from close range after a Cristiano Ronaldo shot was only partially saved.

In an amazing quirk, Portugal have now advanced to the quarters without winning a single match in France in 90 minutes.

Luis Nani becomes a centurion

The Croatia game was a special achievement for Fenerbahce forward Luis Nani.

The former Manchester United man made his 100th appearance for Portugal in the last 16 match.

After the game, Nani focused attentions as he celebrated the win with his young son on the pitch.

A series of fabulous photos were taken of Nani and his son enjoying the moment after the long slog v Croatia.

Portugal will now face Poland in the next round, and the Seleccao have a fabulous chance of going very far in the tournament.
