‘Luis Enrique in advanced negotiations with Arsenal’
That’s according to leading French daily L’Equipe on Thursday.
The paper has reported that Arsenal’s Raul Sanllehi is in charge of talks to sign Enrique.
Sanllehi has a close relationship with Enrique from their days at FC Barcelona.
It’s claimed Enrique appreciates Arsenal’s values and the club’s philosophy, and the manager is interested in the job.
But L’Equipe note that Arsenal are not putting all their eggs on one basket. If Enrique turns them down, the Gunners will try to land either Carlo Ancelotti, Patrick Vieira or Leandro Jardim.

‘Luis Enrique close to signing for Chelsea’
Over in Spain, Sport are claiming that Luis Enrique is set to become the new Chelsea coach.
Where that leave Antonio Conte is anyone’s guess. To be clear, Conte is under contract at Chelsea until the end of next season, however rumours have been rife for months that the Italian wants to leave the Blues.
But where could Conte go? The Italian job is seemingly going to Ancelotti, while PSG will sign Thomas Tuchel.
Returning to Enrique and the Blues, Sport tell their readers:
Luis Enrique will make a decision on his future in the next few days and right now he is closer to joining Chelsea than any other club.
Chelsea have already met with Luis Enrique to weigh up the pros and cons of him joining the London team.
Who is Luis Enrique playing?
If the L’Equipe and Sport reports are to be believed, Luis Enrique is clearly speaking to both Arsenal and Chelsea.
Which is the better job? And which club will offer the better package?
Luis Enrique seems to be in the box seat right now, as he appears to playing the Gunners off against the Blues.
