Lovren & Milner: Jurgen Klopp gives Liverpool injury update before Burnley

Liverpool vs Burnley

Liverpool host Burnley on Sunday as they look to regain top spot.

The Reds had a seven-point lead at the top of the Premier League at one point in the season.

However, after drawing four of their last six league games, they have slipped down to second place.

Jurgen Klopp’s side now sit one point behind Man City who are at home to Watford this week.

As for Burnley, they are 16th in the Premier League, five points above the relegation zone.

They have lost their two previous outings heading into Sunday’s game.

Milner and Lovren injury update

Prior to facing Burnley, Liverpool have two main injury concerns.

Dejan Lovren has been out of action for Liverpool since being injured vs Wolves in January.

However, the defender has trained properly for the first time this week and may be available on Sunday.

James Milner was also a doubt for Sunday due to a muscle problem but he too could play a role vs Burnley.

Speaking about Lovren and Milner, Jurgen Klopp stated:

“It’s a rather positive moment, it looks really good.

“Dejan trained yesterday for the first time, [in] full, completely normal.

“Dejan we have to see. He was out for a while, so we have to see how his fitness is exactly. He is not injured anymore, he is fit – but how fit, we have to see.

“Millie we will have to see. It is Millie, so everything heals quicker with him!

“He was already outside yesterday. He had a little muscle issue, but there are still two days to go until the game. I think if you ask Millie he would say, ‘I will be ready’ but we have to see.” As quoted by Liverpool’s official website.
