Tottenham 1 – Man City 3
Man City halted their three match losing streak in style on Saturday night.
The Sky Blues dominated the early stages against Spurs. A little like the Man United game last weekend, City race into a 2-nil lead with goals from Gabriel Jesus and Ilkay Gundogan.
But, just like against Man United, City gave Spurs hope when Christian Eriksen scored before the break.
This weekend, however, City didn’t implode as Raheem Sterling scored a killer third in the second half.
Hugo Lloris slammed in France
On Sunday, France Football have started raising questions over Tottenham keeper Hugo Lloris.
Should Hugo Lloris be the French number one at the World Cup this summer?
France Football are worried as Lloris is blamed for three goals in his last three outings for Spurs.
Against City the keeper took out Raheem Sterling for City’s second goal.
While Tottenham fans were upset that a penalty was awarded – the foul was outside the box – France Football noted that Lloris was lucky he wasn’t sent off.
Two weeks ago at Chelsea, Lloris flapped at a cross as Alvaro Morata scored. And last weekend at Stoke, Lloris failed to clear his lines as Mame Biram Diouf scored.
Previously, Lloris made another error for France in their recent 3-2 defeat to Colombia in the previous international break.
Arsenal’s Petr Cech
France Football have also revealed that Lloris has now made six errors in the Premier League which have lead directly to goals.
The Spurs stopper is level with Arsenal’s Petr Cech for mistakes leading to goals.
Cech is labelled the “master” of mistakes.
The main alternative to Lloris for France are Marseille’s Steve Mandanda or PSG’s Alphonse Areola.
