Scottish giants Rangers have this evening confirmed the loan signing of Liverpool youngster Sheyi Ojo for the 2019/20 season.
Ojo, a gifted 21-year-old attacker, can play either on the wing or in an attacking midfield role.
He has been on the books of Liverpool since 2011, when he joined from MK Dons as an 11-year-old.
However, since first breaking into the first-team setup at Anfield in 2015, Ojo has struggled to nail down any sort of regular game-time on Merseyside, leading to a number of loan spells away from the club.
The English U21 international has lined out for all of Wigan, Wolves, Fulham and Stade de Reims over the last four seasons.
The latest of these stints, though, in France with Reims, proved an altogether underwhelming experience for Ojo.
All told, the youngster managed just 15 Ligue 1 appearances, only 3 of which came as starts.
As such, as has since been made official this evening, Ojo’s latest temporary move away from Liverpool is set to come much closer to home.

Ojo will of course join forces with Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard at Ibrox, after the 39-year-old guided the Glasgow giants to a 2nd-placed finish in the Scottish top-flight in his debut campaign in charge.

Speaking to RangersTV on the back of his move being confirmed, Ojo explained:
‘I am really excited to be here, my first impressions around the training ground and seeing all the players have been great. I feel really settled in and I am just ready to go.’
‘The last 18 months to two years I have not really had that consistent opportunity of football. When I heard Rangers were interested I spoke to my representatives, the gaffer Steven Gerrard, and I spoke to Liverpool as well.’
‘I think all the parties believed this was the right destination for me, for my career and for this season.’
